We had already heard the news that Japan’s operator, Softbank Mobile, which has exclusive right on offering iPhone in Japan, has added 1seg TV feature to view digital TV right on user’s iPhone 3G. Now, the feature is available on Softbank stores starting the end of 2008, packed with external battery combo. It will be officially available nationwide by January 9th.

The combo price is 9,840 Yen (about US$ 100) and will get external battery as the bonus. The tuner is (reportedly) created by iCube corporation from Korea. The sales of iPhone isn’t as good as expected, although quite good, of which one problem may caused by unavailability of 1seg TV feature. This digital TV tuner is de-facto a standard feature for cellphones in Japan.
