HP introduces 3G laptop

Posted in: UMTS, GSM, HSDPA, 3G WCDMA, 3G

Definitely I need to add this notebook to my wish list.

Hewlett-Packard’s new nc6400 is a 3G-capable laptop that offers download speeds fast enough to pull in podcasts, multimedia-heavy Web sites, and even videos — from just about any major city around the world — thanks to the built-in Cingular 3G module. The nc6400 is also Vista-ready and powered by a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo processors.

In an overture to knowledge workers with wanderlust, Hewlett-Packard and Cingular have launched what they are claiming is the world’s first notebook Relevant Products/Services with built-in global 3G capabilities.

The HP Relevant Products/Services Compaq nc6400 boasts a built-in Cingular Wireless UMTS/HSDPA module — in plain English, hardware that lets the notebook connect to Cingular’s global high-speed data network in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, and much of Asia, with more than two dozen countries in all.
