India’s 3G policy might be announced soon

The Indian government might announce their much awaited 3G policy soon. This is now possible as the defense ministry has agreed to vacate 40 MHz spectrum by July. Opening of the 3G market in India would enable the mobile service providers to launch high-speed data download and interactive services like video gaming and stock trading.
Department of Telecommunications (DoT) secretary DS Mathur said in a statement: “The 3G policy will come very soon hopefully by the month-end.”
