Qualcomm and LG Demonstrate FLO on 3G Handsets
Qualcomm Incorporated, a leading developer and innovator of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and other advanced wireless technologies, recently announced the Company conducts live, over-the-air demonstrations of FLO Technology, featuring delivery and viewing of multiple channels of wireless multimedia content, on handsets from LG Electronics MobileComm (LG), a pioneer in multimedia convergence technology.
The demonstration took place during the 2006 International CES in Las Vegas, Jan. 5-8, in LG Electronics’ Booth #8214, LVCC Central Hall.QUALCOMM’s FLO Technology demonstrations at CES are the first handset demos with major device manufacturer LG. FLO Technology, a multicast innovation and key component of the MediaFLO™ System, is an air-interface technology designed to offer the most capacity and coverage available while reducing for cellular operators the cost of delivering multimedia content to mobile handsets.
