Celcom Malaysia to Expand 3G Coverage
Malaysia is one of the fastest growing 3G countries in Southeast Asia. Celcom (Malaysia) Bhd reported will expand its 3G mobile service to cover the whole country by July 15, said chief executive officer Datuk Shazalli Ramly.
Its 3G service currently covers the major urban areas, such as the capital, Shah Alam, Johor Baru, Ipoh, Alor Star, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. There are 100,000 subscribers to the service now.
Celcom wants to boost its 3G subscriber base to 150,000 by year end, and expects the expansion in its 3G coverage will help. [3G!]

I read the article in Mobile World about the coverage and speed of Celcom 3G.
The Mobile World magazine send a team into 15 locations in Klang Valley to test Celcom 3G and Maxis 3G.
If you haven’t read it, there’s an uploaded gif

if you want to see the full article.
Otherwise to summarise:
Coverage: Celcom won 14 to Maxis’ 1 on locations
Av. download: Celcom-330.8Kbps Maxis-155Kbps
Av upload: Celcom-55.2Kbps Maxis-45.1Kbps
As a Celcom user, I am of course thrilled!
