BT creates Wi-Fi community
Britain’s BT Group has teamed-up with FON to create “the world’s largest” Wi-Fi community, adding 3 million consumers to a collective that already includes subscribers to France’s NeufCegetel and Time Warner Cable in the United States.
Customers will get free access to FON’s Wi-Fi hotspots in countries including Japan, the USA, Spain and France, as well as when in range of other BT FON users.
The wireless internet company already operates 190,000 hotspots around the world dan still need a lot of improvements since users in several countries, including the USA should buy special hardware.
