NTT DoCoMo profit drops 20%

The press conference held by NTT DoCoMo revealed the drop in net profit compared to last year result. Due to the price war with its competitor, KDDI and SoftBank, the company revised its sales forecast for the full year.

The Japan’s biggest telecommunication company net profit by the first half of September down by 20.4% compared to year earlier. As the operational profit goes down by 21% to 408.5 billion yen.

DoCoMo President, Masao Nakamura, told that the company got a big loss since the introduction of “number portability”, where customer can switch their operator without ever changing their numbers. They plan on giving new discount to attract more users.
