HTC is going to create phone for Google’s Android

Taiwan’s phone manufacturer, HTC, has announced to make phone for Google’s Android platform. It is expected to be launched in Europe by second half of 2008. The focus of this Android is more to Internet experience than just make a call.

“The core nature of Android is the fact that the internet should be put right at the centre of your mobile experience,” said Florian Seiche, HTC’s European VP . “It is fair to say that it will be very much focused on the growing part of the consumer market that is using mobile devices for much more than voice calls and text messages.”

Furthermore, altough HTC is going to make new one under Android, HTC will not leave Microsoft. “Indeed, we plan to grow our leadership position with the Microsoft platform,” said Sieche.

Is it going to be iPhone truly next competitor? At least it will be another touchscreen phone. Sieche hinted, “It’s fair to say that touchscreens are becoming extremely important for providing user experience”.

  4. Yeah, go on HTC. Go on with Microsoft. Too bad. I decided not to buy any product you release. No one knows this HTC thing at all. And now, there’s a reason to ignore it.
