Motorola to create 20-30 handsets in 2008
Motorola, who the sales is decreasing everyday, is trying to regain its position back. They plan to launch 20-30 handsets in 2008. Stated by Bill Chen, newly appointed Motorola Taiwan General Manager of mobile device business, Motorola aimed to re-capture the lead position in the Taiwan handset market.
Currently, Motorola is only in 4th place in Taiwan with 13.6%. The position above them filled by Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and Samsung. Regarding Android, Chen said, “Motorola has ventured into the development of Android-based handsets, but the company still has no timetable for the launch the open-platform mobile devices,”
