Verizon Wireless to join Android alliance?
One more big player to join Google initiative. Verizon Wireless seems going to use (and sell) Android platform phone. Verizon Wireless CEO, Lowell McAdam, said, “clearly the Android system gives a lot of developers the opportunity to develop applications for a wide range of handsets”. Later he added, “we’ve talked with Google and we continue to analyze it”.
Company spokesperson confirmed that no agreement signed, yet. “We continue to follow and monitor the Open Handset Alliance, but as yet, we have not officially signed on. That said, we may do [it] down the road, but nothing yet”.
Definitely this extra ammunition will boost expectation regarding Android support and - of course - its future.
