Smart Phone Duel 2.0: BlackBerry vs iPhone
Will iPhone kick ass BlackBerry?!
I will put the tag “2.0″ there since this battle will involve most of blogger on blogosphere. Hey dude, where’s another player (Nokia, Samsung, Palm, Motorola, LG, HTC, etc)? Actually they are all still inside this game. However, it is not wise enough for me to put them on this blog-post’s title.
This post is inspired by an article from CIO via Survey by ChangeWave. This magazine took a very good angle on this case by quoting what Tobin Smith, Founder of ChangeWave, had said;
“However, at the same time, we’ve picked up an unusual eight-point decline in the percentage of corporate customers who say they are ‘Very Satisfied’ with their RIM BlackBerry smartphones, which may mean that there’s a problem brewing for the Canadian manufacturer.”
Upps, Mr. Budi Putra might want to comment on this quote (and I think he has already).
That quote seems want to tell us something like this; Hey Canadian, watch your pie out!
iPhone, the Apple’s baby born in 2007 is predicted to become the real next RIM’s BlackBerry contender. Are you kidding? Nop! Though Apple’s only take 5% (fifth position after RIM, Palm, Motorola, and Nokia) in current corporate smart phone, this baby have won something BlackBerry and others didn’t; customer satisfaction.
iPhone get 59% of their customers which feel Very Satisfied with it, that’s about three-in-five. While RIM takes the second position with 47% (ChangeWave also said that this is also mean “Very Satisfied“). This percentage, which RIM got in this survey however had declined about 8 points from the previous survey. Is it enough to make RIM worry about?
Currently, I don’t think so since other part of that survey also said that 77% corporates still considered BlackBerry as their next smart phone buying plan.
Anyway, this is a nice league to watch. BlackBerry who win the functionality and iPhone whose design and usability is a secret weapon. 3GWeek will keep an eye on it!
