Successful mobile WiMax story in Thailand
Thanks for Motorola and UIH (United Information Highway) for their cooperation on making this test comes true. Both of company had successfully tested mobile WiMax in two cities; Bangkok and Phuket, cities where high demand of broadband access is happen. Since then, Thailand can hope to offer commercial mobile WiMax on next year.
To meet a “full mobility performance”, there are some condition need to be fulfilled. Here they are:
- Its signal must be received successfully
- Transfer seamlessly from statin to station even when the receiver is on a fast-moving commuter train with average speed of 100 Kph. (Well that’s so fast for a commuter)
Untill now, global WiMax users have reached 1.5 million. So little to be compared to others technology like 2G or 3G which hace reached ten or hundred of millions.
