Forget Qantas, Emirates had done it first
For our 3GWeek readers we were very sorry to said that Qantas is not likely to become the first Airline which implement the AeroMobile’s technology. The first airline however is the famous one from far east called Emirates Airline.
The Flight EK751 with Airbus A340-300 from Dubai to Casablanca, Morocco was the first flight which had try this (something which is commercially historical). Those passengers were able to place and receive calls from their own mobile phones.
Anyway, don’t try to think that doing all of this service inside the aircraft is just the same like you do on the casual way. No it doesn’t! The Dubai-based airline will offer you some guideline such as: switch your phone to “silent ” mode first, wait until the aircraft reached the cruiser attitude. That’s it and have a nice calls or texts by then.
Oh yeah, how about the BlackBerry’s email? To telling you the truth, it is not yet ready until late 2008. Just like Qantas. We shouldn’t wonder since both of them cooperate with the same company, AeroMobile . Great job folks!
