Nokia should thanks to Shahrukh

I doubt that if he even think to use that 1100

Big News Network said that:

The world’s largest mobile phone maker, Nokia, recorded whopping sales worth 51 billion euros in 2007. Strong sales in emerging economies have come about due to Nokia’s extensive distribution system in the Asia-Pacific region. In terms of sales, India is ahead of the United States and two European markets, Germany and Great Britain. Sales in the US were worth just 2.1 billion euros in 2007.Hey, how much does Nokia get from India sales. Siffy will tell you that:Sales in India shot up 36 per cent to 3,684 million euros as compared to 2,713 million euros in 2006. The country’s contribution to the total sales of the company is next only to China, which accounted for 5,898 million euros.Ok, I want to ask again. What type of handset did their good job on that year? I guess we all know about that. The Keitai Blog probably has a good answer on this.

  1. Nokia currently has 38 models available on the retail shelf, of which around 13-25 can be categorised into the low-end segment
  2. This segment has a product at every Rs 200-400 price point beginning from sub-Rs 2,000 (about $40) Other companies have only a few models placed at entry level
  3. Margins in the low-end segment are around 6-8%
  4. 30% of Nokia’s demand comes from rural and semi-urban India
  5. 70% of the models sold in rural and semi-urban markets are low-end

O Yeah, those crazy popular Nokia 1100 :)

From the marketing angle, we can also said that King Khan is playing his role for Nokia as good as in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He is so good for Nokia, so does for 3GWeek (the post about Nokia 8800 with SHRK break the hit record of this blog).

Hmmm … Hammara Nokia.
