2009 is the birth of Super 3G Network

Woooow, that’s what I call Super …..

So what makes Japan’s largest operator call it ‘Super’? Fellows, read this via Japan Corp:

NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced today that it has recorded a downlink transmission rate of 250 Mbps over a high-speed wireless network in an outdoor test of an experimental Super 3G system for mobile communications.

Then continue to this:

Super 3G, which features low-latency data transmission and high spectrum efficiency, is an evolution beyond the High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) protocols of W-CDMA, an original technology for 3G packet transmissions. Super 3G, also known as Long Term Evolution (LTE), is being standardized by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and core specifications have been approved already.

Well, maybe this is a good achievement for Asia but European had done it first with Manx Telecom. Anyway, the transmission rate is still in huge different. Manx Telecom can only achieved 1.4 to 10 Mbps, while the Japanese can do it even 20+ faster.

Now, the good news is that 3GWeek readers can watch the presentation of this research during the CTIA wireless 2008 (Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association) tradeshow in Las Vegas on April 1st. Be there Ok …
