Two Face Motorola
Don’t get freaky on this face. He was just a piece of face actually. Until something wrong had happened.
This is the new Motorola shall become: first face (note: company) will be a mobile device makers while second is going to have some businesses in network infrastructure (like this or this).
However, Motorola (and their fans) shouldn’t worry about this decision because other players actually did it too, and they had done it very well. Ok, let me give you some examples here; Nokia has had two division right now. One to make mobile device while others doing businesses in network infrastructure with Siemens (note: Siemens’s mobile device division had been sold to Benq. Horrible ending for Taiwanese). But don’t forget the world’s number 4th largest maker Sony Ericcson (obsessively success).
This split will take place in 2009 and since then their CEO, Greg Brown surely hope that this decision will improved flexibility, more tailored capital structures, and increased management focus as well as more targeted investment opportunities for shareholders.
Before that 2009 d-day happen, I bet they will lose their market share. Whether being bitten up by their follower like SE and LG or being rapidly left from its leader; Nokia and Samsung.
Probably, some of Motorola rivals up there could make some new mantra out there;
From Hello Moto to Bye Bye Moto
