WiMax will be the next “Chak de! India”

Chak de! Tata ….

Intro:

Starred by Shahrukh Khan, Chak de! India is the movie about the spirit of Kabir Khan who want to make such an unpopular yet Indian weak women hockey team to become a champion of the world. If you want to know more about this movie then read it here (thanks for Review Stream). But if you are more interesting in our WiMax story, please continue below:

Now, that spirits is also lies on Tata Communication who play a big role in this issue:

March 4, India’s Tata Communications announced the countrywide roll out of a commercial WiMax network. What’s the big deal on this? Well, this is also known to be the world largest yet for high speed, wireless broadband technology. Uggh .. now you know it!

Actually, the most advanced WiMax lives in Korea (via Korea Telecom) and Japan (via KDDI), but both of them don’t make it available across their countries. It’s just a supplement to the wired service.

Surely that doesn’t looks like India, country where there is little connectivity and broadband wireless is so difficult to get. Tata’s thought that this is the best chance for them to play something big here.

This mobile WiMax will be available in mid year. For now and then, users can only used the fixed wireless first. Alok Sharma, chief executive of Telsima (a Sunnyvale-based maker of WiMax base-stations and the leading WiMax tech provider in the world) said that this implementation could add a few thousand WiMax subscribers a day into their 25 millions CDMA service. A number that would afraid their competitor, Reliance Communications which has 38 million).

For India, which “always used last year’s fashion to dress itself up,” says Sharma, it is a chance to launch a brand new. fourth-generation technology that the world can follow. “India is becoming the knowledge centre of the world; it should take the lead in this,” Sharma adds.

Just like the song in Chak de! India’s movies:

prove yourself
own your words
right or wrong
dare to dream
push the limit
play with pride
wake the spirit
go for glory

He .. he
Chak de
Oh Chak de India
