The crazy RIM’s Blackberry

This is one of the gadget which bring billion of dollar for RIM.

I am saying like that after I read RIM’s 2007 fourth quarter profit from CNN Money. It is so big, even Indosat’s profit can only touch its 20%. Wow, here comes the number:

  1. Sales grew 102% to $1.88 billion for the quarter that ended March 1, 2008. This is 0.02 point higher than analyst had expected.
  2. Net income rose 120% to $412.5 million, or 72 cents per share, beating the consensus estimate of 70 cents per share.
  3. For the full fiscal year, the maker of the BlackBerry said revenue totaled $6 billion, up 98%, while net profits rose 105% to $1.3 billion.
  4. 2.18 million new subscriber additions for the fourth quarter.
  5. RIM save the quarter with more than 14 million subscribers (it must be Blackberry).

This number will evolve of course. I strongly believe that this number will increase in the late 2008 if India’s government have achieved a deal with RIM in term of email server regulation. 3GWeek had a review on this a couple weeks ago.
