Some highlights from CTIA Wireless 2008
As the premier global event representing the $500 billion global wireless industry and the largest wireless show in the world, CTIA Wireless 2008 brings together all industries affected by wireless technology for three days of intense learning and networking. This event took place in Las Vegas April 1-3.
Here are some highlights from the event:
- Google failed to participate in the wireless industry’s largest trade show. Google preferred to conduct a secret operation within the industry?
- U.S.’s largest wireless service provider, AT&T, has been discussing with Google in seeking possibilities of using Android as the basis of AT&T’s phones.
- Samsung Instinct would be an iPhone competitor that features a touch-screen interface and a boatload of other features. Let’s see what happen next between the two.
- Microsoft, Nokia, and Sprint advance the state of the art on the wireless Web. Three big boys in different field but can work together to beat… who?
- Several major Bluetooth headset manufacturers released updated models with a renewed focus on sound quality—and in some cases, voice recognition. I love Bluetooth and excited to know something new about it.
- Microsoft demos Windows Mobile 6.1 that features a new mobile Internet Explorer browser and Adobe Flash capabilities. Worthy to try.
- Technology is changing presidential race, former candidates tell CTIA. Obama proved it already.
- Live-blogging the Yahoo Mobile CTIA keynote. It’s cool!
- Nokia Quietly launches N-Gage 2.0. There are five games available now.
- Alcatel introduced a new Playboy-branded handset. That phone too sexy?
- Nortel delivering seamless mobile communications anywhere, anytime, any device. Yeah, the most important thing is how to keep this momentum to launch the service.
