Welcome, the Nokia 6212 Classic with NFC

Nokia 6212 comes with NFC or Near Field Communication, a technology which could connect its device to others NFC device in a short distance i.e. four centimeters apart (according to NFC Forum) or 10 cm (according to Wikipedia). Well, I respect people on Wikipedia too.

Technically, NFC is operating at 13.56 MHz and transferring data at up to 424 Kbits/second. A simple wave or touch can establish an NFC connection. This standard also compatible with other wireless technology standards such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

Back to the Nokia’s context here; this NFC built-in gadget will let their users do these cool things here:

1. Fast and easy content sharing

e.g. like business cards, photo, music, video or calendar notes

2. Access services and information

e.g.activate a profile in their handset or open applications such as FM radio or web browser

3. conduct payments

Since it can stores users’ credit card information and come up a 3G technology, users are allowed to do some payment over the web

4. Ticketing

e.g. through the air instead of waiting at the service counter
