Samsung M110 is a G.I. Joe mobile phone

This team need M110. Go on and burn all the Cobras you got.

Wait a minute, do you still remember about the G.I. Joe (short for Government Issue Joe) characters which was born in February 2, 1964? If you’re not, don’t worry because Hasbro, the maker, has a nice page on the history of this military-like action figure.

For me, G.I. Joe team can be more elegant if each of them hand on this Samsung M110. The specs and features has been built specially for people who need a tough yet compact handset to communicate. War is included.

The black is cool but the green-like is not.

Alun Taylor from Register Hardware describe this water-proof handset like this:

We are happy to be able to report that the M110 is most certainly more than splash-proof. One of our staff dropped it mid-conversation into a 2 in-deep puddle during a downpour of near Biblical proportion. He didn’t even lose the call.

Next stuff which make this M110 rocks is the battery. Taylor again showed how tough this inexpensive £50 candy bar.

To that end, the M110’s battery life is outstanding. Samsung quotes a talk time of up to eight hours and up to 400 hours - 16 and a bit days - on standby. Now we only had our test handset for eight days, but after an initial charge we used it regularly every day and never switched it off and still had what looked like half a charge left when we sent it back.

For those who want something like iPhone, NSeries, or BlackBerry this handset probably is not for them. You don’t need to surprise when you only find a 0.3 MP VGA camera here plus a 2 MB onboard memory without expansion slot, FM Radio without music player, and …. here is the complete spec:

  1. 2G network with GSM 900 / 1800
  2. 109 x 48 x 17.9 mm in dimensions
  3. 95 g, so airy for those soldiers
  4. CSTN, 65K colors
  5. 128 x 128 pixels, 1.52 inches in size
  6. Polyphonic (64 channels), MP3
  7. VGA, 640×480 pixels, flash
  8. Push, spray water and dust resistance
  9. SOS messaging & Flash light
  10. Up to 400 hours in stand-by
  11. Up to 8 hours in talk time
  12. More on GSM Arena

Within all of this specs, we believe that Samsung targeted people who work in mining or at its kind. And if this is not to be such a shameful request one, I wish Hasbro want to consider this M110 for Duke, Snake Eyes, RoadBlock, Flint, and Asian-American Gung Ho.
