Nokia launch its 9th Music Store in Singapore

Finally, Asia got their own turn.

Todays at 18.00 PM, Nokia officially announced the opening of 9th (Chinese lucky number) Nokia Music Store in Singapore. Great! 3GWeek had forecasted this I guessed.

As I said a couple days ago, Nokia is extremely playing big in music. This Finnish definitely know what action should they take to anticipate the fast changing trend in mobile phone and communication industry; to take care all stuff that may give revenues.

Nokia take care the mobile game industry with N-Gage, Music with Nokia Comes with Music and Nokia Music Store and next, only God knows it.

Ok, now let’s back to the topic. This Singapore Nokia Music Store offers Nokia’s customers with millions of songs from a very wide gamut of genres ranging from pop to dance to Asian like Mandarin, Malay and Indian music.

A song will cost SGD$2 while album ranging at SGD$16 each. A variety of payment methods are available through credit cards, AXS machine and vocuhers.

To enjoy this online service, Nokia’s customers need whether N81, Nokia N82 and Nokia N95 8GB devices, otherwise, a PC (Apple’s Mac platform is not supported yet) that have an internet connection is good enough.

Just like any other Nokia Music Store, this Singapore NMS also provide free track from local artists. But not just that, Nokia is kindly open their service to independent labels like Ocean Butterflies Music, Rock Records Singapore and Thailand-based RS Digital. Nice CSR dude.

What was interesting then?

Just to check Nokia’s million of files database (actually commitment too), I was a little bit surprised knowing that no result for “Siti Nurhaliza” or “Sheila Madjid“; Malay famous singers. But never mind, probably they haven’t remember both yet.

No Siti or Sheila in Nokia’s million of music database. A joke?

Luckily, when I tried with “Udit Narayan“, this store gave me a lot of stuff to deal with. Hmmmm, good coverage. But please, if Nokia’s guy don’t mind, please consider both divas for Malay section. At least Malay people will be happy with that.
