China Mobile offer free service for earthquake victims

This Sichuan survivor in need of China Mobile free telecommunication service.

There is always a good news behind bad news. Just like this one from the earthquake site Sichuan, China.

China Mobile, world’s largest company in term of wireless subscribers have begun to help Sichuan people which affected by earthquake to keep in touch with their relatives around the nation.

Started at May 14, China Mobile had set up about 2100 sites which provide free communication service such as free telephone service, free mobile phone battery charging and free soft drink. Of course, other disaster common first aid like medicine are also available in company’s sites.

Most of Sichuan people use this free service to report their current situation to their relatives. Thanks to China Mobile who kindly provide this wonderful help till all relief work is done. What a nice CSR!

Honestly, as one of the victim of Jogja’s earthquake at May 27, 2006, I think that this China Mobile initiative is deserve for a kind of appreciation since I didn’t found the same service from Indonesian wireless operator companies at that time.

A moment after earthquake had happened, what alive victims actually want to do first is to tell their remote relatives about their conditions. Sure, with a cellphone. Unfortunately, at the same time, earthquake also destroyed the telecommunication tower or other equipments which made common telecommunication service was obsolete.

Again, thanks for China Mobile. Your help will make Sichuan and other people love you more.
