SingTel bring mio TV goes mobile

mio TV now available in your mobile phone.

Asia giant telecommunication company, SingTel added a new service called “mio TV on mobile” for their users in Singapore. This service will give users a live TV channels with Electronic Program Guide (EPG) information and Video-On-Demand (vod) alongside with excellent user experience which still based on mio TV.

With EPG, users are able to view the scheduled broadcast television via their mobile phone interface. While VOD will give SingTel’s customers a chance to stream the TV’s program instantaneously or download it into their devices to be watch later. That’s what make this technology becomes “on demand”. Thanks to Nokia Siemens Network which bring this cool service available via its Media Delivery Solution (MDS) 3.5 technology.

Unlike Mobile TV service by the Philipphines Globe Telecoms which do not require a special software, SingTel’s service will use a particular application based on Adobe Flash Lite platform. I hope this app won’t eat bandwidth too much like AIR-based app are used to.

For a complete explanation on this service, please check SingTel official press release here. You should go there and sign in for it if you want two not-yet-launch N78 for free.

Note:

I hope Mr. Budi Putra will visit SingTel’s booth in CommunicAsia2008. Sometimes, if they don’t show you a fancy gadget (they’re not gadget maker though), perhaps they’ll give it as a prize for a live contest there.
