Nokia answered issue on N-Gage
N-Gage’s problem used to be very simple: transfer mechanism!
Even big company like Nokia need to fix their service’s term of service (TOS) too. Previously, I always thought that TOS is such a sacred stuff to be changed by a company, but now I realized I was wrong.
On May 22, I have written a post about legal issue on N-Gage’s mobile games term of service. In that post, I had assumed that Nokia is not necessarily false when they put one rule that forbid N-Gage mobile gamers to play their own game when they had upgraded or change their handset with the new one.
My reason for this argument was because neither Nokia nor gamers could guarantee that their N-Gage mobile games was not included as a subject of second hand-mobile phone trading. This trade however will harm both Nokia and mobile game makers themself since the new users of Nokia second hand-handset will enjoy N-Gage’s games without even purchase it via N-gage official website. Sounds logical isn’t?
The truth: just a transfer mechanism problem
According to Nokia spokesperson, Oskar Södergren, Nokia has never meant to lock such a game in one handset. No! What was really happened is that they are still working to develop a mechanism for transferring those N-Gage mobile games to a new phone. That’s it. No big deal like what blogosphere had gave us last week.
Problem to transfer Wayne Rooney is a problem of Nokia too.
Well, if this is the point then I would love to suggest Nokia to pay more attention while creating such an important document called TOS (term of service). Most users refer to this stuff when they experiencing a legal problem.
