Pakistan mobile phone subscribers reached 85 million
Yes, Pakistan had reached 85 million mobile phone subscribers.
3GWeek team are so often reporting mobile news from India. Currently, there are about twenty reports on them which we collected in one category; India. But what about Pakistan? Only fours. Anyway, that’s not the matter here.
What matter now is that Pakistan has increased their mobile phone users to almost a million every month. Means that they could reach about 12 million mobile users in a year. Though this is not as strong as India which account for 10.16 million new mobile subscribers each month, this country has become the top one in South Asia in term of tele-density.
Today, Pakistan have 85 million subscribers for both mobile and fixed service. This number is equal to 58 percent of its total population that reached 164,741,924 (July 2007 est.). Hmm, no wonder if they could beat India. Flash back to two years ago, on April 19th, 2006 our managing editor Budi Putra reported that Pakistan’s tele-density was only at 22 percent with 27 million mobile subscribers. Great achievement by then. Congratulation.
