Quick update: SE Xperia Steel Silver
Yes, we are still waiting for the ultimate Sony Ericsson phone to come. As part of the surprise, SE gives us new color variant. For those who doesn’t really like the black version, here come the new shiny Steel Silver version. The picture display classy and elegant look. The material seems like the one use for Nokia N95.
Moreover, we can see that the “XPERIA” typo has been emblazoned below the LCD surface. As for the status, it is still coming soon (again and again). This is the first Sony Ericsson phone to use Windows Mobile 6.1. Hopefully it will never came late to compete with other competitors.
We know that the phone carries quite latest technology, but who will guarantee the technology is still “the latest” when it is finally unveiled in market? Again, late 2008 will be the battle of smartphones. New iPhone, new Blackberry, new Nokia, even super-new Google Android will strike each other to find the real deal — the real champions.
Sony Ericsson needs to fast forward its production due to sales decreasing. They still can’t catch LG, which comfortably find the fourth largest in market share since this first quarter. If the phone is launched today, there will be much chance to overtake the sales since the competitors still preparing for autumn/winter sales.
Is there any chance the production late is because of the Operating System itself? Although the phone uses Windows Mobile, there are some proprietary modules still ran by Sony Ericsson, such as for camera control. Thus, probably they find some difficulties in integrating Sony Ericsson natives and Microsoft mobile system.

Until now, Sony Ericsson has 11 products which still in line to be launched in public. They are categorized in G class, R class, T class, W class, C class, Z class, and X class (if Xperia X1 is really part of brand new category). Is C class has already fully replaced the K class for Cyber-shot camera phones? When will the Sony Ericsson fanatic users be able to try the latest products? Seems like Sony Ericsson has lot of questions to be answered.

@ mari 3GWeek team is based on Indonesia: Jakarta and Yogyakarta. At this moment, SE X1 has not been launched yet. You should wait for a couple of weeks or less because it seems that SE have prepared this gadget as a secret weapon to block the birth of 3G iPhone on June 9.
