Yahoo Messenger in cellphone

For those living in mobile world, cellphone is one gadget we must have. For communicate with others we require reliable call and SMS connection. Not only that, technology has enabled to use the power of email and Instant Messenger with our phone keypad. Well, business phone (like Nokia Eseries or Blackberry) has integrated the email and messenger features. What about our regular phone?

There are several Symbian and J2ME based application to communicate via messenger. To use it, we have to download the application first then using our GPRS/3G/HSDPA connection. If we don’t have unlimited data plan, the bill is probably going to be a nightmare. The applications that be able to deliver our messenger communication, e.g:

The cost includes software downloading and GPRS usage. So, how to use such fantastic service?

First, buy a new Three SIM card package (means only eligible for Indonesian). Next, here is the procedure to use and activate the feature:

  • Create SMS, type “YM” and send to 333
  • We will get reply, contains link/URL
  • Download the software (J2ME) referred by the link. No additional cost for this
  • Install it to our phone, login using our Y!M ID, and the messenger will work perfectly!

Remember, not all phone can use this software. Only those which can be installed with Java (J2ME) that eligible to enjoy this feature.
