Quick report on CDMA subscribers in Q1 2008
CDMA Development Group (CDG) reported in June 2, 2008 that there are 451 million CDMA subscribers worldwide nowadays. This is a 17% increasing from the past year. From that total 451 million, CDMA2000(r) contribute for 438 million users while CDMA2000 1xEV-DO reaching 97 million.
Here are another quick facts on this issue, especially for Asia Pacific:
In Asia Pacific, the total CDMA subscribers (CDMA One ™ and CDMA2000) rose to 231 million, which accounts for 51% of total worldwide CDMA subscribers and marks a 30% increase from March 2007 to March 2008.
CDMA2000 grew by 38% in APAC over the past year, bringing the total number of CDMA2000 subscribers in the region to 223 million, accounting for almost 51% of the world’s users.
CDMA2000 1xEV-DO subscribers increased to 97 million users globally, 39 million subscribers among them are in Asia pacific continuing to comprise the majority of the world’s EV-DO users at 40%.
Currently, there are 73 CDMA Operators lies in 32 countries over Asia Pacific.
