New-iPhone wishlists
Well, Apple currently holds their annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in San Fransisco. Most tech bloggers are blogging live from Moscone West to witness new iPhone that most likely be introduced by Steve Jobs in about next few hours. As we all know, the phenomenal gadget was launched in WWDC exactly a year ago.
There are lot of speculation about the new-iPhone specification. I don’t have iPhone (or at least dream about it), but as this year there will be a lot of new smartphone to be in the market, I think iPhone need to have several mandatory specifications. Here are my new-iPhone specification wishlists:
- High speed data connectivity. 3G is a minimal, but I think HSDPA will be the best option
- Integrated GPS function. Nokia and Google has integrated it, why can’t Apple?
- Better battery life. This must be a great breakthrough for energy sucker like smartphone/PDA
- Better shape? I know that iPhone is quite thin, but the size is still not fancy enough to be inserted into pocket. Remember that Blackberry, Google Android, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, even Nokia N95 are more ergonomics
- Better price plan. Who wants to buy early when we get 50% discount after 3 months? Lesson learned from last year edition was Apple will give more incentive to boost their sales. Why so rush to get the product (unless you are an uber-rich person who buy things as prestige-more over to be the first to grab the product)?
- Better sales strategy. Who don’t want to buy the fantastic phone? Why don’t they use Nokia style on distributing the phone worldwide? It will easily score iPhone sales record. I think the most problem lies on production. They are not ready (yet) to fulfill worldwide demands
- More open to developer. Google has made great move on allowing third party-from the very beginning-develop for their brand new Operating System. Apple should follow the way. I bet this step will bring more people to buy the product since third party developers will create many innovating products. Remember why we use Mozilla Firefox, instead of Internet Explorer. Apart of security issues, Firefox gives us the power of plugins/add-ons-created mostly by independent developers
So, how many points will be realized by Apple/Steve Jobs? Let’s wait for another hour.
