Nokia N79, N85, and 5800 (Tube): sneak peak
Tired of reading iPhone 3G news here and there? Yeah, we understand that readers might had enough about it. Just wait for July 11 to prove that the phone is as fantastic as what consumer expected. If I think all over again, the specification, although much better than the previous one, is NOT superior compared to Nokia N95. The main difference is only iPhone uses Mac-mobile version-as the main Operating System, while N95 is based on Symbian S60.
So, how are you, our market leader? Have you anticipated the launch of iPhone second edition? Well, Nokia as we all know has already prepared for it. They managed to unveil new product, codenamed Tube, to battle one-on-one against iPhone. The phone, which now christened as 5800 XpressMedia, hasn’t in the market yet. But we are lucky to discover some photo leak in the Internet.
From the photo above, we can see that Vodafone logo has been emblazoned below the LCD. Probably this will indicate exclusive plan for some countries by the largest mobile operator in the world. At least we know that it will be equipped with 3.2 megapixels Carl-Zeiss camera with dual-LED flash, compared to 2 megapixels owned by iPhone 3G.
Still what happen to the numbering? Why Nokia put it in 5xxx series, instead of multimedia-Nseries? I don’t how important this phone in Nokia’s roadmap.
What about other new products? This “spy pictures” reveal two phones which most likely be named as N79 and N85. No official announcement yet from Nokia, but rumor like these are rarely going to miss.
N79 has different design compared to other Nokia product. Take a look at the navigation keypad. The slim horizontal and vertical keypad are not Nokia regular design. The color is quite common, white and black/dark. Seems like the phone color trend this year is fully about basic natural color, yin and yang, black and white.
N85, in the other hand, quite resemble the tradition of Nokia design. It will have dual-LED, as we can see in the picture. Since we don’t have further information about N79 and N85, until now we don’t know yet about the spec. We promise to update it as soon as possible.
Are there any people still interested to these Nokia phone lines, instead of iPhone 3G?

Yes Mr. Amir, I think there will be such a market for those Nokia new cellphones up there. But I guess they won’t make a boom in term of sales if the price tag doesn’t come with the right bucks.
The worst scenario here is if Nokia dare enough to sell this model higher than what Apple has set to the iPhone 3G; $199 and $299 in all over the world.
I think Apple will have a chance to beat and replace Motorola as the only US cellphone manufacturer someday.
