Sony Ericsson C905 Review
Sony Ericsson C905 Shiho impress you with 8,1 MP Camera and auto focus.
Hey 3G iPhone and Flickr lovers, you should turn your head on this one. Because if what you’re looking for right now is a cellphone that has a good and optimized camera features, this one is a perfect option. Obviously! Here, I’m going to split its wonder into some parts. Generally, all specs and features are really cool. So beware on the details please!
Sony Ericsson C905 Design and Storage
It is a slider cellphone with 104 x 49 x 18 (19.5) mm in dimensions. Light enough at 136 grams (3 gr heavier than 3G iPhone). Comes in Copper Gold, Ice Silver & Night Black colors. The internal storage is just 160 MB. Surely, not as impressive as W series. As an alternative, Sony Ericsson will pack it up with 2 GB Memory Stick Micro M2.
Sony Ericsson C905 Camera
Shiha camera is what matter. Let’s see, it sports on the 8,1 MP (3264 x 2448 pixels) camera with auto focus and a lot of features. Come and name it into the list.
- Prints your photos in up to A3 sizes
- Face recognition
- Xenon flash for still photos
- Photo flash (the improved one) for videos
- Smart Contrast
- Image stabilization
- BestPic
- Red-eye reduction
- Geotagging pictures (like the one iPhone 3G does have) with built-in GPS with further support for A-GPS
- Accelerometer to automatically flip photos to landscape mode
- A TV-Out Cable ITC-60 that let you share photos on a TV-Set
- Built-in WiFi with DLNA-support let you share all media in your home
Sony Ericsson C905 Display and video
It’s a beautiful 2.4 inch QVGA-resolution scratch-resistant mineral glass TFT (240 x 320 pixels). Viewing photo will be purely palpable. Thanks to 262.144 colours (18 bit) as well. Videos are recorded in VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels). Unfortunately, it does not feature optical zoom. If you’re the zoom-zoom lover then I’m afraid you will be upset because of this.
Sony Ericsson C905 Network and Battery
This is a quad-band cellphone supporting GSM/GPRS/EDGE (all versions) with UMTS & HSDPA support in the European version (2100 MHz) and American version (850/900/2100 MHz). Michell Bak guessed that it may deliver 3.6 Mbps HSDPA. The battery is good for 380 hours of standby or 9 hours of talk on GSM networks, or 360 hours of standby or 4 hours of talk on 3G networks. For all exchange that matter, there is a Bluetooth connections, supports USB 2.0 data transfers, and can be synchronized with Exchange ActiveSync.
Sony Ericsson C905 Price and availability
No detail on the price tag yet. Rumors said that it will touch the stores at Q4 this year. Well, if this is to be true then let’s hope that it won’t pass the critical $299, maximum price of 3G iPhone.
Conclusion:
I think people who love to traveling and taking pictures is the best market target for this Cyber-shot class. As always, I bet that Sony Ericsson will try to endorse this gizmo using a couple of lovers or a group of family who love to taking pictures for each other. Yes, let’s hope that SE will try another ideas as well.
Note:
I do not hand-on this cellphone. All material in this review is a subject of my craftsmanship with data from other blogs.
