Not yet official: Motorola ZN5

Motorola strikes again? Rumored to be bought by Kyocera, they are indeed still struggling in financial thing and cutting more and more employees, due to profit declining in global sales. Yet, they manage to launch something new, which is going to be the first phone-for Motorola-that is equipped with 5 megapixels camera.

Yeah, this 5-megapixels-camera technology is so last year. Nokia N95 and Sony Ericsson K850i had been used it for ages. Not to mention other manufacturers like Samsung and LG. Again, this is an achievement that has been made by near-to-bankrupt mobile manufacturer that once became major player.

Motorola most likely will christen the phone as ZN5. This series (ZN) has never been used before, but numerical 5 here probably signaling the 5 megapixels camera. Media reported that the camera is going to use Kodak proprietary. Kodak is big name in photography industry, thus Motorola can still hope that this phone will sell enormously. This collaboration is like what Nokia and Carl-Zeiss has made.

What we can get about this phone, besides its camera thing, is that it will use Linux as its Operating System. Motorola and Linux has made numerous cooperations, including the previous RAZR2 V8. Another great innovation is the picture can be taken in RAW format, a first time thing to be done by camera phone. Other than that, we can enjoy the picture shotted via TV using TV-out.

We’ll keep you updated about ZN5 (and of course the life of Motorola).
