Samsung F268 and W510 is a friends of us

“We still have so much time to save this earth“. Samsung probably want to endorse us to say just the same word regarding global warming issue. Well, probably I am a little bit late to write this post. Anyway, for a good thing among us, such a “lateness” could be a positive thing too.

Four days ago in World IT Show, one days before Communic Asia 2008 being held, Samsung has launched two new environ mentally-friendly cellphone named W510 and F268. Both of gadgets were being named as “green cellphone” since they comes with material that will not deprave the existence of our planet; earth.

As a cellphone, Samsung produce this slider handset without heavy metals such as lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), and cadmium (Cd). As we might know, those metals are not really good four our environment. In fact, Samsung had uniquely crafted this W510 with a material which have been extracted from corn plus a water-soluble coating. Can’t believe it they made it!

Lead is not good since you may get it unconsciously while you’re inhaling or drinking your water. Dude, this is a toxic. Mercury and Cadmium are not good either since both of this could turn to be toxic as well in human body after an incorrect utilization or processing.

This slider device is being produced using the same material like W510 used. Anyway, Samsung F268 has a plus since it also comes without with such goodness such as not containing BFRs (brominated flame retardants) or PVC, compliant with the Energy Star requirements and comes equipped with alarm to alert its users when the battery is full and suggest you to unplug the charger by then.

Both of gadgets will be available for South Korea market and China as well. We all hope that this trend will be followed by other vendors too. Especially from world’s top cellphone manufacturers such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, LG, RIM, Apple, etc.
