Nokia’s Widsets to use Baidu for mobile search in China
A great utilization for local content has been made by Finn giant, Nokia. Their widget application, Widsets has agreed to use Baidu, instead of big name like Google or Yahoo for their China’s mobile search.
I think it is a smart move since Baidu search better about Chinese locale, compared to big names from USA. The product will be preloaded in new Nokia handsets. Forbes cited this information from Shanghai Securities News official who has sources close to this matter. No financial agreement disclosed.
Widsets is an application to view set of own widgets. Type the URL and they will do the rest. With Explore feature, now you can rate the widget available and let other people know which one sucks and which one rocks! Currently Widsets has 4 million subscribers in China and this agreement will bring more excitement to Chinese users.
