How are you, Benq Siemens?
Benq, Taiwan manufacturer, was buying the once-German-respected, Siemens Mobile, in 2005. They thought, using the power and name of Siemens Mobile, can enhance their business in mobile market share. Turn out they are wrong. This move makes no difference to Benq position in global sales.
Even worse, the transaction made Benq-Siemens, the joint venture, getting into difficult financial situation. So after three hard years, how are you now, Benq(-Siemens)?
Thankfully, they are back in business. Ditching the Siemens name (probably it is too hard for them using the German identity) and launching their own Benq E72. The phone is powered with Windows Mobile 6 Standard and featured 2 megapixels camera and WiFi. Well, not that funtastic, but this phone is quite compact and the first product to use Benq name (again).
We wish Benq a great prosperity in making good handset with affordable price. Remember, lesson in the past is pricy, never do the same mistake twice.
