Well, the story above is so yesterday. In the era of 3G connectivity, we can control every moment occurred in our place using 3G remote camera. One product that fulfill the requirement is Qool Callisto, made by Singapore’s Qool Labs.

How this thing works? Callisto remote camera is actually using regular SIM card. Besides camera, this remote camera also has microphone that allow person-who is standing in front of it-to make conversation with the phone which has called it. Moreover, we can control camera behavior using our phone-as remote control. Once connected, here is the button’s remote translation:

6 : turn camera right

5 : turn the sensor off

# : turn infrared sensor on for night vision

The phone can be used to record video as long as 8 hours and make video call as long as 2.2 hours. Also, we can take picture using the phone by sending SMS “take plot m” and the camera will reply with MMS containing 800×600 JPEG picture.
