Blackberry in Japan on August 1
Finally, Blackberry reaches Japan. NTT DoCoMo-the largest mobile operator in Japan-offers Blackberry service, begun from August 1. No dedicated server needed, as the phone is aimed not only corporate customer, but individual customer too. One Blackberry to be offered is Blackberry 8707H.
Here are the fee facts:
- Blackberry Internet Service costs 3045 Yen per month (tax included). FOMA basic rate applies separately
- On September 1, the operator will launch BlackBerry Data Transmission Package, enable users to transmit up to 80,000 packets of data per month for a flat charge of 1,680 yen. Data exceeding this limit will be charged at 0.0525 yen per packet
NTT DoCoMo will tease Japan customers about this Blackberry during Wireless Japan 2008 on July 22-24.
