LG to decrease CDMA handset production

enV2 is one of LG’s CDMA handset. Less product like this this year.

LG, the world’s fourth largest cellphone manufacturer announced today that they want to decrease the production of its CDMA handset. LG decided to take this action after they had experienced a decreasing in the share of CDMA’s devices. While at the same time are enjoying the increasing of their GSM’s sales and shares.

A South Korea based-investment firm, Hanwha Investment and Securities said that GSM products would account for 50 percent of total LGE products in the second quarter. It is 3% higher than the previous quarter.

Outsourcing

The same firm also said that LG want to outsource their handset production to Taiwan or China to cut the production cost. It is estimated that outsourcing will gain about six to seven percent of its tota production.
