Executive guide to Samsung Q2 net profits report
Samsung Blackjack is helping its producer to reach the revenue target!
The world second largest mobile phone manufacturer, Samsung, had just unveiled their Q2 net profits. So what is the result? Here is a brief and quick list about this report from Forbes.
- 2.14 trillion won ($2.12 billion) in earning.
- 18.14 trillion won ($18 billion) in sales.
- 45.7 million mobile phone handsets are sold out. That’s 22 percent higher than Q2 result last year yet a 6% lower than the Q1 result this year.
- 92 million handset are totally sold out in this half. That’s 20% higher than 2007’s first half.
- 200 million handsets this year as predicted by its senior vice president, Chi Young-cho Chi.
Note:
I assume that the decreasing of Samsung’s sales in this Q2 compared to 2007’s Q2 is because people are hold their bucks to watch the rise and action of iPhone 3G which has been buzzed off during the first semester of this year? Yeah, let me repeat it: the rise of iPhone 3G!
I do not necessarily agree with their senior vice president for that 200 million prediction. In my opinion, the result could be lower than that since people will choose to wait and watch the rise of Android gadget. If only Samsung becomes one of Android early adopter this year, I bet they can reach that point. But if they not, let’s accept another prediction.
