3.5 mm headphone jack in Sony Ericsson phone?

Sony Ericsson is known for not including any of their phones to be familiar with 3.5 mm headphone jack. Although 3.5 mm headphone jack is informally standard for audio connectivity, Sony Ericsson seems not interested to equip it into their Walkman lines.

Coincidentally, this decision may be ended since Sony Ericsson J132-a low end phone which has not in the market yet-is probably has 3.5 mm hole. The phone actually doesn’t have anything related with audio equipment, except FM radio. What’s the use of having 3.5 mm hole inside this low end phone? Why don’t they equip it into mid-to-high end phones in order to meet consumer satisfaction?

The first phone to have 3.5 mm headphone jack was Nokia N91 which is intended as music gadget. The phone can be connected with many regular headphone.

This is the great weakness of SE, and is probably the reason why they have fallen to 5th place and continue to be beaten to the ground by the Nokia Xpressmusic series. Their R&d is not listening to the consumers. They continue the obnoxious habit of refusing to include a 3.5 mm headphone jack in their Walkman units. Plus their insistence on using the very expensive M2 cards, forcing the customer to buy this is the reason for their downfall. Are you listening bright boys of Sony Ericsson?

I agree completely. Why do ALL manufacturers continue to not include 3.5 mm headphone jacks, the obvious industry standard, in any of their phones with music capability? I bought a phone that could play mp3s but never listened to it because I had to buy a stinking proprietary connector, with terrible audio quality for and outrageous price. It sure seems to me that if someone, anyone, wanted to get a jump on the market, they would include a 3.5 mm jack. I am confident that it would truly set them apart and provide a selling point for the product that no one else has (at this point…).
