Q3 financial prediction: LG to take over Motorola’s position as number 3
LG has been defeated by “lucky Motorola” last Q2 financial report. Yet, Motorola still shouldn’t be happy since most analysts predict that LG will definitely beat Motorola in this Q3 2008 market share. LG handsets have gained more popularity in Europe and USA by achieving 14% increase of global sales in Q2, while Motorola only gain 2% more.
Motorola was reported selling 28.1 million handsets (9.2%), while LG was achieving 27.7 million units (9.1%). It was very close condition and since Motorola hasn’t unveiled breakthrough products this quarter, I must say I agree with analysts’ prediction.
In other hand, Nokia continues to dominate world market share with 40% of total population, with Samsung comes second with 21%. Where is Apple’s iPhone? Although it gains major hits in several big countries in the world, it only grabs 2% of total selling last quarter.
