Apple asks for iPhone 3G production increase

iPhone 3G is really a hype everywhere. People really love to grab the new 3G version, even for people in savvy market like Japan. Due to high demand, Apple asks Foxconn (formerly Hon Hai) to increase iPhone 3G production to 800,000 units per week! This fact can be translated as 40 million units per year for single line up. As comparison, Nokia can sell more than 100 million units per quarter for about more than 50 line ups!

Concern raised for quality control since asking for more production may increase failure in quality control. This is one basic rule in manufacturing. Hopefully, Apple can control their production and guarantee that the product in market has passed their Quality Assurance tests.
