Nokia to use AMOLED display?
It is rumored that Nokia is looking for reliable manufacturer who know how to create active matrix OLED (AMOLED) display screen . Nokia is planned to use it in near future. What’s so special about this AMOLED compared to regular screen? The reason are:
- brighter
- more color-rich (compared to LCD)
- thinner
- more power-efficient
Seems like AMOLED is going to bring revolution in phone screen industry. For years, we are using standard TFT screen that I think quite old to catch up with the advance of nowadays technology. is the cooperation between AU Optronics and TPO Display-both Taiwan screen manufacturer-to make experimental AMOLED display for Nokia.
Some believe that cooperation will last until the launching of the first Nokia to use AMOLED screen in 2009. It is predicted to be a new trend, even iPhone probably will use it in the future.
