iPhone 3G price in India
This is a breaking news on iPhone 3G. Reuters just reported that Vodafone Essar, India’s third largest mobile operators has announced their iPhone 3G price.
- Rs 31,000 rupees ($708) for 8 GB
- Rs 36,100 rupees ($824) for the 16 GB
Note that this offering is still considered as an unofficial one since this announcement has come from its unnamed senior company official. However, based on its rival’s official website, Airtel, I think that this price is somewhat a truth rather than a buzz. You can check out below for such a proof.
Bharti Airtel’s iPhone 3G price
It is just the same as Vodafone’s offering. Airtel will sell this iPhone 3G at Rs 31000 for 8 GB and Rs 36100 for 16 GB (White & Black). Check their official website here. And don’t forget to click Expand All button on that page.
How Indian Bloggers are Reacting on this issue?
Just great. It depends on where you want to track down this issue. You can use Summize, Technorati, or even the latest and cool Google Insight. Anyway, I’ll keep it simple by showing you this picture in this post. Ha .. ha … ha …
Look, my suggestion is that you better wait for HTC Dream or Nokia’s device than buying a $200 gadget at $800 in such environment that hasn’t been ready yet. Come on Asian, just show them that we’re not too stupid as a consumer, right?
Note:
($1=43.8 rupees)

Hi
There is a myth in the market place on low pricing of the product (reference price point being Rs. 8000 or Rs.12000/- which
refers to AT&T pricing of USD 199 or USD 299).
The reports don’t factor the commitment which a customers needs to give for a particular Price Plan for a period of 24 Months
in the case of AT&T. For O2 the commitment is for 18 months with selected plans.
But, if we calculate other cost like montly rental for voice, i.e., 69.99 (USD), the total cost of ownership for the period
of 24 months for a 8 GB model comes around Rs.81000/-! The total cost of ownership for O2 is around Rs.200000/- over a period
of 18 months.
In first look it looks high, but in long term, it is still cheaper in India. So, don’t stop urself from buying this lovely
gadget…

@Rajiv saini, great analysis. But still, even without those pricing plan this gadget is just too expensive. However, iPhone lover or Apple maniac should buy this one I guess. No cons on this.

Ow, just as expensive as in latin american countries.
iPhone is supposed to be the cellphone for everyone. But it for every american and european.
In latin american countries is the cellphone for actual already mobile internet users, not to acquire new internet users as Jobs planned to.
