Lock Nokia E61 via SMS
Do you put your Nokia E61 somewhere else, while you don’t want unauthorized person to open it? No need to worry since there is actually a nice feature that enable you to remotely lock (or unlock) the phone via SMS. The key is by sending the right password. Well, surely you need to send it from other phone, yet this trick guarantee that the phone won’t be open whatsoever (unless other people know the password, so make sure you write the difficult one to be guessed).
Kompas Tekno and Sinyal (in Indonesian) reveals the step by step way on doing it:
- Go to Tools > Settings > Security Settings > Phone and SIM
- Change “Allow Remote Lock” to Yes
- Insert a password, contains 5 characters as minimal
- Put a password again for verification
By sending an SMS contains the password to your own Nokia E61, the phone will be auto-locked (or auto-unlocked). Yet, I don’t know whether this way still valid for other Nokia phones or not.
