Nokia and Capcom create Resident Evil Degeneration for N-Gage
Have you ever played Resident Evil? The game, that has been brought to movie franchise, is telling about surviving in the middle of zombie attack. The game franchise is a major hit and as of February 2008, the series has sold 34.5 million copies worldwide.
Resident Evil Degeneration is actually an animation movie based on the game series. It is going to be released this fall in Japan and be in DVD and Blu-ray in USA on Dec 30. One variant of Resident Evil Degeneration is converting it into game. Not standard console game, but N-Gage game.
Resident Evil maker, Capcom, in cooperation with Nokia will bring the game into our pocket. The game will run to new Nseries that has capability of playing latest N-Gage platform and scheduled to be in public later this year. Explanation from the official press release:
The game, part-based on the upcoming October theatrical release in Japan full-length CG motion picture of the same name, focuses on the release of a deadly virus by a terrorist at a US airport and follows series favourites Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, as they attempt to destroy the virus and prevent it from being dispersed across the country. Resident Evil Degeneration is the first full-length CG motion picture from the Resident Evil series, widely considered to be the benchmark of the survival horror video game genre.
I think the series will be a major hit and Nokia will bring more franchise into its gaming platform. It is indeed a genius move by Nokia, since it doesn’t have any competitor from other mobile manufacturer. The direct competitor comes from handheld devices, including Sony PSP and Nintendo DS.

Finally a full 3D movie of Resident Evil. Very good for people like me that’s too scared to play it but wants to know the story
