DoCoMo + Sharp + Nissan = cellphone + car key
Wow, this must be a great innovation. DoCoMo, Sharp, and Nissan agree to collaborate on creating new thing. They are making a cellphone that also can be acted as car key. The press release said:
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., NTT DOCOMO, INC. and Sharp Corporation announced today that they have jointly developed a mobile phone capable of functioning as an intelligent key for automobiles - a world’s first. The device will incorporate Nissan’s Intelligent Key system, already a standard feature in various Nissan vehicles.
Definitely this is an interesting news that will bridge the path to future. Japan is of course the leading country in this hybrid kind of technology. The prototype will be demonstrated in CEATEC 2008, the Japan biggest telecommunication expo. The implementation itself is expected to be in market by early fiscal year 2009.
