Sony Ericsson: Android? Why not
With the hype of Android based phone, seems like Sony Ericsson, the Japan-Sweden venture, is showing more attention on it. CEO Dick Komiyama said its side is studying it, yet not able to embrace it. He said:
We are certainly studying this opportunity, although we’re not in a position to do this at this moment. We should look at this application. We are certainly interested.
Seems like Sony Ericsson is licking its own words. Previously last year, the company said it declines to support Android and will back for current UIQ instead. But as the Android hype continues and show bigger interests from consumers, Sony Ericsson realizes that its previous step is definitely wrong.
Previously this month, Sony Ericsson has announced the launch of Xperia X1 in London, yet the introduction seems be outnumbered by the news about latest Google toy, T-Mobile G1. Will we be able to see Xperia X2 powered by Android? I think it won’t be harmful effort, as the company still suffers from bleeding financial result last quarter. Instead of Windows Mobile, backing for Android should be a smarter way for the future.

By switching to android, how many bundling agreements n profits will vanish from SE book. I don’t think SE can switch that easy. I’m hoping though:d
