DoCoMo plans to sell Android and BlackBerry Bold next year
A really good news for Japan’s gadget otaku. The country’s largest operator, NTT DoCoMo, is planning to sell Google’s Android platform phone next year. DoCoMo is one member of Open Handset Alliance (OHA), organization that developed the Android OS, based from Linux. Probably the model that will be sold is based on HTC’s T-Mobile G1.
Beside Android, there will be 10 or more smartphones to offered next year, said Ryuji Yamada, DoCoMo president. One of them is RIM’s latest BlackBerry Bold. This move will mark more BlackBerry presence in Japan. DoCoMo started to sell BlackBerry phone since August. The first BlackBerry existed in Nippon land was BlackBerry 8707H. The Bold will be available since first quarter next year.
